• Groceries have gotten unbelievably expensive. People need food, it is one of our basic necessities. Food should not be grown for excess profit. But who decides the price of our food? It’s not the farmer, and it’s not you. The people who decide how much we pay are the corporations that own the grocery stores and distributions. No one else, just them. Every year, the humans in suits who don’t care about you, and aren’t your neighbor, decide to increase the price of our food because they “need” growing sales year-over-year. This is outright bullshit. They should not be able to increase prices simply because they “feel” like it.
• When a farmer sells their crop, it doesn’t get sold directly to the store. It gets sold to a distributor/whole-saler who then sells the crop to the company that owns the store. The farmers earn the least from the transaction where the distributor adds on fees to short-change the farmer while increasing their own profits. This is why farmers turn to renewable energy, because the food they sell isn’t enough to make ends meet. And then grocery company adds on their margins to make ever more profits. On top of that, some farmers are forced to sign exclusivity contracts where a distributor will pay a set amount of money for a set amount of food with a set quality. Anything that doesn’t meet that quality, is thrown away but it is still perfectly usable, edible, and saleable. Much of our food is thrown away before it even leaves that farm. Does some of it get used? Yes, as compost or feed for animals, but not all of it gets used. But, because farmers have signed a contract, the farmer is not always able to sell the food that doesn’t meet the quality, IT MUST BE THROWN AWAY.
• I will also introduce legislation to create state run farms, distribution, and grocery stores. Why? Because the state will sell food at cost. Not extra fees, no extra margins, no extra bullshit. This legislation will not make privately owned grocery stores, farms, or distributors illegal, but will make it so that the People now have the choice to spend less on food. I will also introduce legislation to limit fees and margins and limit contract terms so that the price tag at the grocery store is lower and so that farmers can sell food locally that would otherwise be thrown away. Lastly, I will introduce legislature to end subsidies to large corporation grocery stores and create a subsidy program for far, far more local grocery stores.
• I will also introduce legislation to prevent perfectly viable food from being throw away. Unwanted groceries should be sold at lower prices, not tossed into the trash. The legislation will also allow grocery stores to donate older groceries to food banks and homeless shelters without liability. This will increase the access to food that the hungry desperately need.

• Everyone needs healthcare to cure our ailments. And yet, people and businesses are scammed out of their hard earned money. Insurance companies deny necessary surgeries, deny necessary healthcare, and deny refunds on the money that we give them. Health insurance is scam. Nothing more than an industry that abuses us. Hospitals are too blame too. While hospitals are non-profits, they are still owned by suits that only care about their profits. So when you go the hospital and use insurance, they charge even more for the same services. Leaving you with higher co-pays or SOL.
• Let us not forget that your health insurance is tied to where you work. You are tied to keeping your job because if you switch, you might/will lose your health insurance. This is bullshit. You should have the liberty of changing jobs when you want without the threat of losing your life-saving medicine or care.
• On top of this, medicine companies use our taxes to fund their research then charge unbelievable prices for those medicines. If they’re using our taxes, they should not be able to own the medicine they make, it should be public knowledge.
• I will introduce legislation to create a Guaranteed Healthcare system for Colorado. This healthcare system will make health insurance companies illegal and useless. Additionally, no longer will worker’s comp be needed. When you’re injured, you go to the clinic or hospital and receive the care you need. No more worker’s comp slowly working your case to ensure the cheapest care possible. This legislation will also make it so that you no longer have to pay out of pocket and no longer have to pay extra from your paycheck every month. You will have more money in your pocket, and businesses will no longer have insurance expenses which will increase their profits too. The system will be paid our current taxes. This legislation will also make so that any medicine research conducted with state/county/city funds will be owned by the people.

• Much like food, shelter is another basic necessity for people. Housing is wrought with misuse and abuse. In 2025, 1 in 3 houses were bought by businesses for investment instead of for housing. Housing should not be an investment tool by suits to increase their wealth. Housing should be using for living. Apartments, like houses, are also used as business investments for profit. Every year, the companies that own the apartment increase rent to drive their “profits” and “value”. Nothing is created with this. The “value” is entirely imaginary because no goods are being produced. It’s simply profiteering off basic necessities. Your rent should not increase every year because, guess what, your income doesn’t increase every year. So little by little, you’re left with less and less income every year because your rent keeps going up.
• We also face the problem that not only are businesses buying houses, but people buying a house simply to sit on it to accrue “value”. In some cases, wealthy individuals who want to own multiple homes simply to make themselves wealthier. No one is actually living in those homes, they sit empty and unused. Families could be living in those homes.
• People who already own a home are sometimes forced to leave their home because of property taxes and fines/fees from HOAs. Because property taxes are based off “value” and not when a home is sold, people who are on disability, retirement, or have an income that hasn’t increased in years, are forced to sell because property taxes have gotten too high. This creates empty homes that get bought up as investment instead of for living because property taxes pale in comparison to the “value” profit. Why? Because the value of the home is now so high that new buyers who actually need a home can’t buy it either. It also makes it harder for you to commute to work because instead of being able to live down the street, you now have to live 30min, an hour, however further away. HOAs do nothing to the people who own homes except maintain a facade of “value”, making it so that you lack freedom on your own property.
• I will introduce legislation to entirely change Housing to benefit the people. This legislation will make housing and real estate speculation illegal, so that no more will businesses hold on to houses and property as “value”. This legislation will make so that zoning will change to allow local necessary businesses to be built near homes, like grocery stores, dentists, clothing stores, but will limit their size you don’t have supermarkets with large parking lots taking up all the land. This legislation will make it so that ONLY individuals can own home and only 1 home, and will create pathways to owning apartments. This legislation will also make HOA’s illegal. There is far more to what I envision for this legislation, and it will absolutely take time to get it right the first time.

• People are overworked, and underpaid. Coloradoans go home after work tired, fatigued, exhausted, and have to wake up the next day to do the same. Labor Unions of the past fought tirelessly for the 40hr work week, overtime pay, and other benefits. Today, the 40hr work week is entirely unnecessary because of the technology we use. But, to make it worst, wages haves stagnated. Even in Colorado, wages have barely increased while GDP is growing ever more. Increasing minimum wage does have the side effect of increasing prices because companies want their unsubstantiated growth every year, more has to be done to keep cost of living in check.
• A large portion of the People who live in House District 16 work in Healthcare and Construction. Neither of these industries offer proper work-life balance. Healthcare workers like Physicians easily work 60hrs a week and RNs work on 12hr shifts. This is entirely unfair to the people who we rely on for the care we receive, and is entirely unsafe having tired employees oversee your health. Construction workers are forced to work long hours just so they can meet tight deadlines, many times under the unforgiving Sun. Retail store workers don’t even get the chance to sit down for a quick rest. Retail workers don’t even so much as get to sit for a short rest, or even sit at the register unless they have a disability. Always walking to the next task, always on the move to meet company objectives. Same goes for restaurant workers.
• What happens when you’re tired and overworked? You don’t have time to enjoy life, you don’t have time to cook meals for yourself, you don’t have time to sleep and rest properly. This, in addition to car-centric infrastructure, leads to stress induced health problems and obesity.
• I will introduce legislation to change labor in many ways. First, 32hr work week. Second, 8hr maximum shift time with 30min paid lunch. Both of these include salaried employees. Third, overtime is paid at 2.1x your base pay. If any employer wants you to work extra, now they have to consider hiring more employees or paying you more. Fourth, overtime will be any hours worked over 32hrs or any hours worked outside of your scheduled time. So if you’re scheduled to work 20hrs as part-time, but are asked to work an additional 2hrs, you now get 2hrs overtime pay. Fifth, limit the wealth disparity by creating a maximum 20x ratio between highest and lowest paid employee, and yes this will apply to company presidents/ceos/owners. This means that the highest paid employee can only be paid 20x times more than the lowest paid employee. This doesn’t limit bonuses to the highest paid employee, but now if the highest paid employee, usually owner/ceo, wants a bigger bonus they now need to provide you with a bigger bonus too. Sixth, make it so that employers must provide seating at registers for employees to use. Seventh, employers cannot require workers to work more than 32hrs a week. So no “work weekends as necessary” bullshit. All of this for you to be able to go home with more money in your pocket and less stress on your back. So you enjoy your family more, so you can enjoy your friends more, so you can enjoy your life more.

• AI has nothing to offer humanity. AI does not increase productivity in the work place. AI does not provide information. AI has deluded companies into thinking that AI will increase profits even more and because of that AI has made Americans lose their jobs. Who will the companies sell to if Americans have no money to buy with? AI does not benefit us.
• What does AI do? AI chugs our water. AI feasts on our electricity. AI uses and super heats our land. AI makes use dumber. AI spits meaningless paragraphs, all just to make our utilities more expensive. AI does not benefit us.
• I will introduce legislation to make AI use by companies and state, county, and city governments illegal. This legislation will also make AI sales, as a service or tool, illegal. It won’t make individual use at home illegal and will still allow AI research. Maybe someday AI will benefit humanity, but today is not that day.

• Data centers are necessary for stream services, normally called servers. But many of the data centers popping up across the USA are not for streaming. They are for collecting and harboring data that AI uses to create useless nothings. These HUGE data centers are absolutely disgusting. They are nothing more than giant space heaters intended to pollute the air we breath, water we drink, and destroy our ears.
• Companies like Meta and Google also use these data centers to collect our personal data. Personal data like the things we watch, the things we buy, the things we don’t watch or buy to create a profile of who we are to be able show us ads, known as ad space. The data gets used with the “AI Algorithm” to keep us engaged as mindless money pits to sell even more ad space. To increase engagement. To increase their profits.
• I will introduce legislation forcing companies that collect personal data to share the profits with the people they collect data from, and to make the collection of personal data opt-in exclusively and without road-blocks when a person wants to opt-out again. And, any company found to still be collecting data without consent will face fines equal to 200% of revenue for the past year or permanent ban from the state. I will also introduce legislation to limit the size of data centers, limit the amount of electricity and water they can use, and limit the hours of operation as well as create requirements for minimum number of employed people.

• Is there a limited amount of land on earth? Yes. Is there a limited amount of water on earth? Yes. Is there a limited of iron in the ground? Yes. So, is there a limited amount of oil underground? Coal? Natural gas? Yes, yes, and yes. Is there a lot of these things? Yes, but they can run out unless used properly and recycled properly. In fact, in roughly 33yrs WE WILL RUN OUT OF OIL. Every single time you drive your car, the oil gets used PERMANENTLY. There is no recycling the oil used to power our cars, freighters, and even homes. What will happen in 33yrs when we’ve run out of oil? No more freighters to transport food from farm to store. No more cars to go to work. No more trains to transport coal to your local power plant, so no more A/C and no more heating. No more diesel to power the trucks on farms. No more anything. Many people want to deny climate change, fine. Forget climate change. What are YOU going to do when YOU no longer have gas in YOUR car to get to YOUR job to buy YOUR food to feed YOURSELF? Converting OUR state to renewable isn’t just smart, it’s necessary. But what’s incredibly upsetting is how our legislature treats this change. Legislature has absolutely no problem demanding the change to renewable energy, forcing you to change from gas stove to electric without even so much as giving you a allowance to buy that appliance. All the while giving massive rebates and subsidies to businesses to open new locations and buy new equipment. Legislature is too far up their ass to even consider giving subsidies to Colorado Springs Utilities to help convert Colorado Springs to depend more on renewable energy sources like solar. Is there any argument that the materials needed for common place batteries are also damaging to the environment? Yes, absolutely. But that issue can be solved with funding into material science to create batteries that are not only more efficient but also less environmentally damaging. Our legislature neglects funding programs that would be beneficial to us.
• Colorado does happen to produce a lot of oil and natural gas. 8th in the country to be exact. But why are gas prices in this state decided by not us? Why do we pay the same as a state that doesn’t produce as much oil and natural gas? Prices should be set at the local level, not international level.
• In Colorado Springs, we have public owned utilities which already makes our energy costs lower than normal. That’s great and all, but what happens when the CS Utilities can’t provide enough power? It’s required to buy power from the market which is significantly more expensive. Who supplies to the market nearby? Xcel Energy and Black Hills are the largest privately owned energy providers. Xcel Energy is known for brown outs across Denver. We shouldn’t have to rely on private energy companies that sell electricity at almost any rate they choose. The state and cities should provide to the people, with local energy nodes to prevent brown outs and prevent the need to buy power.
• I will introduce legislation to drive more scientific research into new battery materials. I will also introduce legislation to rid the state of private energy companies. All utilities will be publicly owned. Lastly, I will introduce legislation to set oil prices at a local value that would screw over Colorado commuters.

• I am a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment, and I am against laws and ordinances that limit the open carrying of arms. I understand the purpose of those laws, however. People who fear the next mass shooting or school shooting want to prevent them from occurring. This is not an unjustified fear. BUT, gun control does little to prevent gun-related crime.
• Remember the Parkland High School shooting? Remember the Apalachee High School shooting? Columbine High School shooting? What about the more recent Evergreen High School shooting? These atrocities occurred with the same underlying problem. The students committed these acts because the society in which they lived failed them. Parkland High School students stated many times that the student who committed the shooting was bullied relentlessly. Apalachee High School students said the same thing too. Columbine, the student perpetrators had a history of delinquent behavior. In Evergreen, the student idolized another school shooter. In all these scenarios, society failed to deal the student’s problems, failed to give the student the care and attention needed, failed to act to ensure the safety and well-being of the children before they turned to violence.
• There’s more to gun violence than just school shootings.
• Gun control laws are as foolish as taping the holes in a sieve to collect water from a leak. Instead, lets solve gun violence by asking why is there a leak in the first place and fixing it. In 2022, only 10% of violent victimization involved a firearm. That still leaves 90% of other violent acts unaccounted for with gun control law. So what’s the leak between them? Poverty. Unemployment. Substance abuse. Lack of education. Mental health disorder. Creating fixes for these leaks will decrease gun violence and violence in general.
• There is no one piece of legislation that can be passed to solve these leaks. Every other issue on my priorities will indirectly fix gun violence and violence. Having said that, I will work to get every piece of legislation that limits the open carry of arms removed.
